 My C

About my art practice and history

My art practice is centred around making acrylic paintings and monotype prints. Monotypes are one off, unique, works on paper. I use a gelatin plate and gouache to achieve a very layered textured effect. I mainly use the Australian landscape as my inspiration and interpret it, not through photographs, but through my intuition.  After living in the rural area of Dungog for the past 7 years I have absorbed the key elements of the landscape.  My  large acrylic paintings reflect this emotional attachment.  I also use a photo transfer and encaustic process that allows me to achieve different effects according to the project on hand.
